Dorm communities play a vital role in promoting student well-being at Exeter. Each dorm features a team of faculty, proctors, and student listeners who work to support its students. The Student Listener program, supported by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), was started over forty years ago and has grown to be an essential resource for students. Student listeners serve as peer listeners who help students adjust to life at Exeter and provide support for any concerns or struggles they may be going through.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, after 9 p.m., seniors gathered together in the Elizabeth Phillips Academy Center while enjoying various pastries, snacks, and hot chocolate. This, however, was not an average Tuesday, but the exciting first Senior Grill of the year.

Preseason athletes were among the first groups of students to return to campus for the 2024-25 school year. Representing seven different sports, the athletes arrived about a week early to get to know their teammates and coaches and begin practicing together. Throughout the week, each team had the chance for its members to bond with one another and learn how to play together efficiently, building trust and comradery for the new season.

Beads of sweat drip down the faces of young Exeter Day School students as they run to their parents.
